Mission OrdersWalkthroughAccept the mission from any gate guard. He asks you to investigate the activity of the orcs in Yughott Grotto. Head to the burning circle in Horialis Peak for a BCNM battle. For this battle, a balanced party of at least LV 65 players is highly recommended. Even at that level, it will not be a particularly easy fight. You will need someone with a group sleep spell, so a BLM or BRD (or both) is highly recommended. Only people from San d'Oria that are of proper rank may enter this BCNM. Inside the circle, you will find two orcish warmachines (similar to the Orcish Flamethrowers that you will find in other orc-occupied areas), as well as three named orcs. It is easiest to camp a little ways outside of the actual battle area, and have the PLD pull them all back. The suggested order of the battle is as follows:
The BRD or BLM will sleep whichever orcs the party is not actively fighting. Each of the of the normal orcs will use the respective 2-hour ability for his job, so be careful of Eagle Eye Shot on the RNG especially. Once you have completed the BCNM battle, return to a San d'Oria gate guard to receive your reward of Rank 8, and 60,000 gil. Duelist's Chapeau
Didn't need Convert. Used Cocoon to get roughly 650 Def and had 80 Vit. Finished with 130 mp from a pool of 680ish. Used Screwdriver for some extra damage on the RNG. Slept the extras as needed. Was very smoooth, only needed to recast stoneskin 5-6 times the entire fight.

Just knocked this out with my friends.
DRG75, SAM73, BLM63. Basically all you need is a sleeper and you have this fight in the bag. It was easy. SleepgaII from the start then both DD tackled the two warmachines. After that we took out the PLD, then the DRG, and finally the RNG. Though we had to rest to full on the last Orc.
60k and a rank, piece of cake.

All the hype about this, just did it 6 mins 41 seconds, 68 pld 75 drk 75 drg 67 sch 74 smn and 65 rdm. Was easy, never dropped below 70% hp. we ran in drg took both warmachines killing almost instantly, and we did PLD orc, Drg orc, then Rng orc. No poblem at all
I done this mission a few months ago and got to rank 10. I decided to switch to another nation.

Duoed this one as 75 BRD and 75 DRG.
It took 5 tries but we finally beat these SOBs. Actually, it was a lot of fun since you don't lose any EXP when you fail just make sure you have Reraise up when you start the fight.
Basically, the strategy involved a buttload of Hi-Potions and both of us with /WHM. I ran in, slept the lot while the DRG went to town on the Warmachines. Then, she killed the PLD, I continued to sleep the rest. Next, was the DRG and we finished with the RNG.
But, I make it sound too simple, while fighting the RNG he used Eagle Eye Shot and nearly killed the DRG. Well, I couldn't fire off a Cure 3 because I hit the wrong macro (started playing "Horde Lullaby") and she didn't use her Healing Breath on time so she died on next attack. I'm like...oh crap...so I slept the RNG and she reraised and took a knee. For the next 7 minutes or so, I'm constantly sleeping the RNG waiting for her to unweaken. Finally, she goes into red...I heal, she heals and we take out the RNG.
We finished with about 2 minutes to spare (28:22 was fight time). My knuckles were white by the end but it was a blast.

I managed to trio this as a 73 BLM/RDM with a 72 PLD/WAR and a 75 DRK/SAM. They are resistant to sleep though. Elemental Seal + Sleepga with dark staff, capped enfeebling, wizard's coat and igqira tiara didn't even last long enough to get rid of the PLD orc. I'm assuming that the fact that it was Lightsday didn't help (We didn't notice til we had won).
I die, reraise, and sleepga the group again. Strangely it lasted longer this time. The DRK soloed a Warmachine, the PLD took on another and I cured as much as I could. Eventually the DRK finishes his mob and helps kill the warmachine. We rested up a bit. The DRG and RNG wake up, I Sleep II the rng. By the time we're done with the DRG and its wyvern I'm unweakened and the three of us proceed to destroy the RNG. Didn't even get Eagle Eye Shot off.

Setup was 75Nin/37Dnc (Me) and 75Drg/37Whm
I put up shadows, used food, Drg buffed us, blah blah. I ran in first to aggro all of the NMs and started fighting a warmachine, he took the other. After they were dead we took down the Pld easily, started on the Drg, Drg/Whm died getting shot by the Rng with low hp and no mp, I killed the Drg, and was lucky enough to have the Rng EES one of my shadows. ''b

After 1 warmachine went down the two joined up for other warmachine, after it went down we moved to the drg, then to the pld then and by then the rng was basically dead no stressing no 2hours needed nor was convert some damage taken on the pld's but not enough to cause any problems

Done a few days ago on Remora by me (SMN75) Louchris (PLD75) and Dree (BLM73). A few people outside of BCNM laughed at us when I exchanged a couple /tells saying we were going to try trioing this. :)
Buff up and here we go. Started off with an ES sleepga (no sleepga2, but blm is his second job, so no worries). Sleepga held long enough. I pulled a warmachine down with Ramuh. One hit from the paladin, and I Chaotic Striked and it was dead. I had a second of "OMG" shock as I was expecting a longer fight, and then I go back up and we repeat with #2.
After that, orcs woke up. Louchris started fighting the PLD Orc, and I threw Carby on the Wyvern while Dree slept the DRG Orc. I cure Dree until sleep timer is up and RNG Orc was slept next, and when it woke Louchris just took hate and had no problem dealing with dmg from both DRG and RNG Orcs with just the odd cure from me and Dree.
Carby kills Wyvern, Lou kills PLD and we all take out DRG. That leaves RNG Orc. We sleep him one last time, rest up to 50% mp while laughing at him, and then we go to town, taking him out in a few seconds after a Chaotic Strike to make sure Ramuh had hate in case of a EES on Lou. If he had a chance to use it, I didn't notice it.
No problems at all. No 2 Hours/food/potions needed.

Hehe, well,I am on Farie, and my party just did this, was pretty easy, but close. PT setup was 75Drg/Whm, 75Nin/War, 67Sam/War(me), 66Drg/Sam, 60Thf/Nin, and 60Drg/War. The 75Drg/Whm was supposed to kill the warmachine on the right, 75Nin was supposed to get the machine on the left, Sam kill the Drg, Thf Kite the rng and wryven, and the other 2 drg start to kill the pld. Well, the 75drg ran in, and everything agroed, I attacked my Drg, Tachi:Gekko> 2hr> Tachi:Yukikaze> Meditate> Gekko> Yukikaze> Gekko> Dead Drg, me hurting. About that time, the 75 Drg was now dead, the thf had grabbed the wryven and rng, ninja was working over the other warmachine, and the other 2 drgs were working on the PLD. Well, I kill one of the warmachines(Didn't notice which one it was, whichever was almost dead), then Ninja and I killed other, and 60Drg died while killing the other. Killed the PLD, and then waited for the thf to bring back to last 2 mobs. I am about 72HP after getting wailed on for several 150+ hits. (Seigan>Third Eye was almost worthless today, one anticipate and gone.) The 75Drg had Reraise on, and was back up, slightly healed the pt and went to rest MP. Thf came back, rest of us slaughtered the wryven, and attacked the RNG. We were all surprised when the rng didn't use Eagle Eye Shot, so we completely lucked out there.
All in all, I would not advise our stratagie, unless you have another Sam 70+ in the party that might be able to take another mob out fast. PLD and BLM would be a plus, but like us, not nessisary, but makes life alot easier. Either way, it was fun, and thanks to everyone who helped with 7-1 and 7-2 today.

Just duo'd this as 74 NIN/WAR and 74 RDM/BLM. Don't need to have max merits or anything since we didn't even have any because we were only 74. RDM runs up and does ES Sleepga, NIN vokes a Warmachine and RDM just worries about them waking up. I was able to tank each one of them without a problem only got hit once or twice the whole BCNM.

RDM sleep the mobs. NIN and THF each solo a Warmachine. 7 minutes total. Joke of a fight.

We absolute owned them. We smashed the clear time on Garuda by two minutes. The ranger NM was one-shotted by a darkness SC at 65% of its health. We then just nuked and meleed the crap out of the other two NMs. The war machines were too weak. Easiest rank BCNM yet ^^ 60k! :D

73PLD/RDM(Spyderxx) and 75NIN/WAR(Luciferxx) Duo. I put up stoneskin and diaga'd all of the orcs, then ran down the hill while the NIN provoked and solod one of the War machines. At the bottom I turned around and ran as fast as I could back up the hill (I didn't take much damage beacuse the rng and pld fell very far behind. I only had minor difficulty passing the DRG and the other War machine. By the time I made it back to the NIN he had killed the one War machine and was heading down to take the other one. After Both war machines were dead we died just before the Orc starting platform so we could reraise and start again full with 3 mobs. I repeated the first process but the NIN took and killed the RNG (EES missed). On my way back up the NIN took the PLD while I kited the DRG (Didn't want Orc&wyvern stripping the NIN's shadows). After PLD went down, NIN provoked the DRG and we both started fighting. When it 2HR'd I flashed and engaged the wyvern to keep it distracted while the NIN finished the DRG. Almost ran out of time, but we did it. Overall very, very much so a pain in the butt, however, possible to duo without sleep.

The Orcs do not have much HP and are fairly easily slept, this mission is not a problem at all, providing you have some way to sleep the Orcs.

Went really well, slept them all, killed the Warmachines, then i accidentally auto-targeted the DRG mob...
Zefie did an A Class job of sleeping them all though, just took them down one by one. Only slighty worrying thing was the RNG EESing me with no shadows.... missed though! haha!

well just did this with 4 bsts lol:

lv66 mithra bst/whm

had the two lower levels kite the war machines then the other lv 75 bst kited the rng and drg while i solo'd pld. PLD went down pretty quick, then i moved on to drg. Same thing but forgot about wyv stayin there after drg dies. After Drg dead me and other lv 75 bst took the Rng, and by that time the lv 56bst died and the lv66 bst started kitin both war machines. Rng went down quick with no 2-hours from any of them. After that we killed the war machines easily. Yay Bsts! WDIP FTW!!!

70Drk (me), 75 pld, whm, blm, rdm and 70 drg. Blm sleepga'd, we took one warmachine at a time then RNG orc who EES'd the rdm. I thought it was hilarious. The other two were easy, the whole fight was a prison rape for them. Broke the record time by 16 seconds on Shiva. And I love seeing that Rank 8 scroll across my screen. ^^

First time we went in someone had told us that the warmachines wouldnt sleep but they did the blm didnt have sleepga 1 or 2 (wtf?) so we used horde lullaby and he just used regular sleep on any that woke up i tanked it just fine used taco's the ees hit me for around 278, other then that all damage was under 100 except for drg got a crit for a lil under 200 ok next round my friend smurfnibble got there and there were left overs who needed it to set up was

Things didn't go so well the rdm wanted to try to solo the pld mob i was like umm sure. This was a mistake because we were all left without refresh and the mobs kept waking up without the rdm there to keep mp up and sleep w/e else woke up it was sorta hard the drg was jp he didn't listin to thing i said charged right on in attacked the rng and just about got one shotted by ees. so we were fighting 4 mobs with 4 ppl we still finished up the war machines first then did the rng then the rdm came back i thought he had finished off the pld but after we killed the rng the pld charged back into the fight which scarred me but we just went and killed him then moved onto the drg and it was over pretty fun in the end oh the drg had to eat a r1 for being stupid

Did this mission with PLD62, WHM67, PLD69, BST74, BLM75, and DRK70. Took us 14 minutes but we stopped to rest after the first orc and the two warmachines.
