Mission Orders

The Orastery Minister has awoken and the Bearer of Darkness once again terrorizes Heavens Tower. At the request of the Manustery you are to speak with a person imprisoned within the Boyahda Tree and discover the truth behind the doll of the dead.

Walkthrough

After receiving the mission, talk to Apururu at the Manustery, then to Star Sybil in Heavens Tower. After that, talk to Apururu again. Yoran-Oran gives her a letter, which Apururu recognizes. The mission now becomes finding Apururu and Ajido-Marujido's father somewhere in Boyahda Tree.

You'll need a Goobbue Humus item (Rare/Ex) to complete this mission. You can obtain this item any time whether you have the mission or not. They drop from Old Goobbues and Elder Goobbues in the Boyahda Tree. Elder Goobbues are exp material for lvl 66-69 PTs or Beastmasters, so you can easily find people fighting them. The item isn't a rare drop.

After getting the Goobbue Humus, go to first map of Boyahda Tree. There are two doors around (E-4) and (F-5) that are guarded by Mandragora Warden NPCs. Speak with one of them and it seems to want something from you. Trade it the Humus to trigger the cutscene. You will receive the key item: Letter from Zonpa-Zippa.

Go back to talk to Apururu, then visit Full Moon Fountain to complete the mission.

This Goobbue Humus drop isn't too bad to get. Last night I went Rdm/Bst (75/37), charmed flies and got the drop on the 6th kill. Mischarms are a pain, but just sleep the pet if you mischarm, then keep charming until you get the pet. After that, the fly pretty much holds the hate and will stay alive long enough for you to kill even Tough elders. Most checked T with a few DC Goobbues. I brought my second character on my other pc to add a TH2 to the mix and got a few tree cuttings and wisteria lumber.

Found it a fun time and fairly relaxing xp. It's was busy for a late Sunday night, but that was fine to have company.

I'm sure you could. I was able to sleep/nuke the Goobues as a 75BLM/WHM, and they checked only EM-T. At that level range, they'd be easy solo material for a RDM/BLM, much less a RDM/NIN. Duoing them would be much more fun, of course, and you'd need to make sure you had a way of dealing with Silence/Paralyze, since Goobues like doing that to ya. The RDM could sub WHM and bring drops, or if you end up duoing, the BRD could use -nas.

Have fun. ^^

Got mine last night in the tree, it was me 75 whm/blm, a 75 pld/nin and a lvl 60 thf/war came along too for TH2. The drop took about 5-6 goobbues but we did get xp, seals, and tree cuttings so it was worth the wait. Was a lot of fun trioing the big goobbues too :)

LOL when your son starts kindergarten, i would hope this dude won't be hanging around him otherwise I'd say you have bigger problems than grammar. Also, "glaf" ftw!

And just what the **** is "glaf"?! You made a small grammatical error, therefore you simply must be a ******! I mean, it couldn't possibly be an innocent mistake, and nor could it be that perhaps grammar and general writing are not one of your strengths, and that your skills lie in other areas! Because you didn't write according to the standardised dictionary of your respective locale/nation, you are an invalid by default, are not worthy of life, and people are allowed... nay, encouraged!, to deride and insult you as much as they please!

I love the smell of irony in the morning... smells like... victory.

Since we're on the subject of grammar and spelling, I do feel obligated to point out that you spelled 'standardized' wrong. While I understand the point you're trying to make, it's usually wise to make sure you don't make the same mistake yourself. So, for all you flamers out there, please spell-check. :D

Well, that all depends on whether you use the dumbed down US Dictionary or the original Oxford English Dictionary. You know the one i mean, the Dictionary created in ENGLAND for ENGLISH language before America Bastardised it for better Exam results >.>

Thats all

p.s

u spell it COLOUR!!!!

Well Then maybe we Should Start Calling it American instead of English, Because God Knows i dont want to confuse myself with Weak Minded People who sit on there Fluffy Chairs eating Scones all day. Also last time i check we may not be able to Write english Properly but i damn well know We speak it Better than you!

This was extremely easy. Me and a 72 nin/war duo'd the Goobbues with ease and made some decent experience while we were at it too. The drop isn't quite as common as the guide makes it out to be though, but its not extremely rare like coffer keys.
is that all?!

Lol, this mission is cake...was expecting more from 9-1.

I just solo'd goobs for 3 humus's. couple friends of mine needed it too, but they just watched. ^^

That's only cuz i'm a 72 rdm tho...and rdm = master of cheapery XD

sleep trick works too well on those elder goobs.

If anyone on Seraph needs a humus, /tell me somtime and i'll get ya one...might take a lil while tho, 5-10 mins per kill.

Be sure to go all the way up to Star Sybil <sp>. Even tho there is a Cut scene while you are entering Heaven's tower you still need to go all the way up.

During the Long Cutscene in Boyahda Tree it's very important that you always click the bottom options when he wants you to ask a question. This will get you through the cutscene, instead of repeating the same part over and over. There are like 5ish questions you have to ask before you can ask no more questions.

I figured this info will help so you aren't spend an hour in Boyahda Tree.

I got up to step 4 where I talked to Yoran-Oran

Then I go to step 5 and talking to the vestibule door does nothing. cept "it is shut firm"

I tried the door guards and they just said they were outmatched. I can't get to talk to star sybil or apururu again for steps 5 and 6.

Where can I find the star sybil? Or are these last 2 npc talking steps useful at all?
Just to clarify
# Nov 09 2004 at 11:32 PM Rating: Decent
There are 2 enterances with the wardens. The first is in F-5 and is the wrong enterance. If you try to talk to the mandys they will yell at you and will not accept your trade. You must run to E-4 and go into a "hidden" tunnel (i believe on the north-east wall) at the end is 1 Mandy Warden. He simply says Pi... and the chat log says "He appears to want something from you." Trand him your Gobbue Humus and enjoy your CS.

If you go by this guide you miss talking to 3 NPC before you get to the tree. The mandragoras won't give you a dialog at that point.

1. Talk to Apururu.
2. Talk to Sybil in Heavens Tower.
3. Talk to Apururu.
4. Talk to Yoran-Oran in Windurst Walls.
5. Talk to Sybil in Heavens Tower
6. Talk to Apururu
7. Go to The Boyahda Tree ( 1st Map : E-4 or F-4 ).
8. Goobbue Humus is traded to NPC (Mandragora Warden).

I am not sure if this message was posted before the present guide was up, but the guide that is up now is correct. You go directly to Boyahda Tree after you speak to Apururu and get the cutscene with Yoran-Oran. You do not need to go to Windurst Walls and talk to Yoran-Oran. Basically you don't need to do steps 4, 5, or 6.

It seems that you have to talk to the mandagora that is standing by itself in Boyahda, not the ones standing together, I don't recall the position of that particular mandy.
