Description
The Temple of Uggalepih stands in ruin on the southeastern edge of Elshimo Island. The temple was erected by the tonberries as a shrine to the goddess of Uggalepih. Now, the stone temple stands covered in roots and cracks, and various dangerous monsters lurk within its depths. Despite the temple's decrepit state, the Temple of Uggalepih remains the primary home of the Tonberry race.
Points of Interest
- Reset your tonberry hate in the small hidden room at F-11 on the first map.
- The Crimson-toothed Pawberry at H-6 on the fourth map drops the Carbuncle's Mitts.
- The granite door at I-10 on the second map is opened by defeating the Temple Guardian.
- The granite door at I-7 on the second map is opened by using a Paintbrush of Souls on the nearby picture frame. That corridor leads to the Den of Rancor.
- Obtain a Hornetneedle by getting a Bag of bee larvae from Wespes. Trade the larvae to the ??? at F-9 on the first map to spawn Death from Above, which drops the knife.

Found this lil tid bit of info facinating... in the room with all the paintings I noticed something very interesting. I noticed something thats been under our noses all this time for over a year and a half since the US launch (and long foreshadowed since the JP launch of Rise Of The Zilart). Those paintings in that room with the blank canvas that you use your paintbrush of souls on to open the Den Of Rancor... to the right of that blank canvas is a painting of none other than Al'Tiaeu. @.@
Temple Of Uggalepih (added in the JP expansion Rise Of The Zilart) has been with us since long before the US launch. So in a sense it was never "new" to us from the get go. Makes ya kind of wonder, that SE had to have had the entire story and expansion zones somewhat planned out since the beginning. And if so... what other clues lay around Vana'Diel foreshadowing more. ^.~

Well, I think I saw a precursor ot the Pormyvions in February '04. When i first started then, there were steps leading to a doorway at Dem, Holla, and Mea. Soon afterward though, they were covered by that "spine" that points out from the Crag. *however* if you pay attention to the "Select a Character" screen when you login, you can still see the stairs in the overhead view of Holla. I'm willing to bet the stairs were the original way to get into the Promy's, but they ended up changing it and forgot to cover up all the old entrances. :p (sorry for being off topic)

When we buy the map of yhotar jungle do we have the Temple too?
As noted in a previous post, you get the map by opening a coffer in the temple.
Can anyone direct me, like a <pos> or something of any entrances to Den of Rancor?
I want to find the succubus bats and cutlass scorpions.
Any help is appreciated because the Temple and Den are two very confusing places to me.
