Genbu's ??? Location - Spawned by trading a Gem of the North and a Winterstone to the ???. This ??? will respawn 15 minutes after Genbu is defeated or de-spawned.
- When spawned, Genbu's melee attacks will have an additional Water Damage effect to them. This effect cannot be dispelled by magic, but can be removed by hitting Genbu with the Antarctic Wind ranged weapon.
- Waterga III: AoE Water based magic damage. (Circle of effect originates from spell target)
- Water IV: Strong single target Water based magic damage.
- Flood: Strong single target Water based magic damage.
- Drown: Single target Water based DoT that reduces target's Strength.
- Poisonga III: AoE Poison magic. (Circle of effect originates from spell target)
- Head Butt: Single target physical damage with Accuracy Down additional effect.
- Harden Shell: Self target Defense boost (effect can be dispelled)
- Turtle Stomp: Single target physical damage with Defense Down additional effect.
- Tortoise Song: AoE Dispel effect.
- Aqua Breath: Frontal Cone AoE water based damage. Effect is strongest directly in front of Genbu.
- Invincible: All physical damage and ranged attack damage inflicted on Genbu will be reduced to 0. Denoted by the mob 2hr animation.
- Summoned as a pet by Kirin along with Byakko, Seiryu, and Suzaku. Kirin will not summon these in any specific order.
- Significantly lower HP than the Genbu spawned in Ru'Aun Gardens.
- Shares the entire ability set with the Genbu spawned in Ru'Aun Gardens.
Xuan Wu (Genbu in Japanese) is one of the four symbols of the Chinese Constellations, representing the "Black Tortoise of the North" and of the season of Winter. The other three symbols being the "Azure Dragon of the East", the "White Tiger of the West", and the "Vermillion Bird of the South" Each symbol corresponded to an element in the Five Element system, with Xuan Wu corresponding to the element of water. - In the Five Element system in China, there is a 5th legendary beast known as Huang Long, the Yellow Dragon of the Center. While there is no direct equivalent in Japanese, Huang Long is believed to be linked to the dragon Ouryu
