Mission OrdersOn the command of Zubaba, the head lady-in-waiting, you are to journey beneath the central magic tower of the Horutoto Ruins. There, you are to report to the facility managed by Heavens Tower, which protects the talisman that seals Castle Zvahl. Render whatever assistance is necessary. WalkthroughAfter talking to the gate guard head to the Heaven's Tower again to meet the Star Sybil's handmaiden Zubaba. She explains that she wants you to travel to the tower in East Sarubaruta and open a the 3 Mage Gate. You can do the "Making the Grade" quest from Fuepepe (Aurastery, Windurst Waters) for the ASPIR scroll at the same time (well WORTH it). Your party MUST consist of at least one of EACH of the following: Black Mage, White Mage and Red Mage. Go to the north-eastern Horutoto tower and hug the wall to your right to find the Cracked Wall (G-8). Go inside and go through the east door in D-10. Head down to the strange looking gate at H-9. There are 3 colours on the floor: White, Red and Black. Each mage must stand in the middle of each circle and the door will open. Once the door is opened, keep going past through the fake walls at H-8. Wendigos there drop the test answers for "Making the Grade" quest. Go into the "Gate of Light" for a cutscene with the highest ranked cardians. You might also have to bring three Rusty Daggers dropped from Wendigos. Head back to Heaven's Tower to finish the mission. Ok, I literally just did this. First time, didn't skip it. Do NOT listen to the others, you don't have to do it twice or even get 3 daggers. Doing it the first time, just talk to Zubaba after going through the cs where the Cardians pwn you, then you hear the music. Go downstairs and trade a rolanberry to Kupipi and she gives it to you. No 3 daggers, no doing it twice. If you skipped it, I don't know what it takes or if it's different at all, but that's how you do it for the first time. Btw, I had someone who had the charm open the Three Mage Door for me, it's a lot easier.
On a side note, I would like to say that I'm originally from San d'Oria, I got rank 10 so switched for more gil. I HATE windurst missions and the city itself, don't know why...

What i did was completed the first two times WITHOUT skipping anything, and I dont know how i do the third one. Can someone help me out?

I skipped this Mission first time around and I've just finished it now. Talk to Zokima-Rokima at the entrance to Heavens Tower, I had no current Missions at the time , I was given the options of my skipped Missions and my next one, select Written in the Stars. You're then told to speak with Zubaba at the Heavens Tower Vestal Vestibule; it's on the first floor through the Starway Stairway Door. Before I talked to Zubaba I spoke with kupipi in the Clerical Chamber, if you haven't traded a rolanberry to Kupipi beforehand do it now so get one before the start. Zubaba asks for three Rusty Daggers I bought these at the ah 1k each. Trade them to Zubaba then go back down to Zupipi for a Portal Charm, no need to travel to the 3 Mage Gate in the Horutoto Ruins. I don't know if this method will work if it's your next mission and you haven't skipped it. Maybe worth a try good luck.

I recently got Smn to 56 and needed to get my toraimarai canal key/coffer. when i heard mention of giving a rolanberry to recieve the portal charm i thought i'd already done it >.< but heading to the 3 mage gate and found that i didnt have the Portal Charm (It will show up in your Permenant Key Items if you do have it)
Im rank 6 in windy and 3-2 is one i had skipped, luckily i hadnt accepted 6-1 so i could do 3-2 :) I spoke to Ropipi at the heavens tower 'front desk' and then went to the next floor, spoke to Zubaba (she will moan about adventurers always being late). Then i had to go buy some Rusty daggers (lv1), only one on Windy AH so got my husband to grab me the last 2 from Jeuno/Whitegate AH. Go trade the daggers to Zubaba and then go talk to Ropipi again. Trade her a Rolanberry and you should get the Portal Charm.
This one might be a big problem if you are from another nation >.< I've been trying to do the alternative access quests (Toraimaroi Turmoil) and not getting very far.
I also recommend that you try and do the map quest as early as possible in your lvling career, there are 4 mini quests based in Mhura and u have to wait about 8 hours between each one. Starts with 'Rycharde the Chef' http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/db/quests.html?fquest=163

This is deadset the way to do this. You DO NOT need to do this twice to get Portal Charm despoite what some people beleieve. Flag the quest go get past 3 mage gate, goto the door of light and click it, CS with getting your azz beat by cardnials. Then kill wendigos for Aspir quest if you like. Otherwise go back to windy walls. go into the heavens tower, talk to Zubaba. This completes 3-2. buy from upper jueno M& P's shop a rolanberry, trade it to Kupipi. DONE she gives you the Portal Charm!
If you, like me, skipped this mission the first time around, you may run into problems activating it. Here's how it works:
The gate guards offer you a choice of missions. If they do, just select this Mission. If they don't, and instruct you to go to Heaven's Tower, it means that you've already chosen a mission at some point.
Enter Heaven's Tower, go to the door across the room.
Inside that room is another door to the left, bathed in light.
Past that door are stairs winding upwards.
At the top of those stairs is a teleport back down, and a path to the left.
Take the path to the Star Sybil's chamber.
If you haven't come here before, you will get a CS about the mission you chose at the gate guard, and an option to accept or decline the mission.
If you decline it, you can then go back to the gate guard, and choose the mission you wanted.
If you don't get a CS, or option to accept/decline, it probably means you already accepted a new mission, and need to complete that before you can choose another.

i have the mission and everything but i cant get inside the gate of light cause the stupid taru never gave me the charm of light, I spoke to her again she only says bring back 3 rusty daggers as proof i did skip this mission b4 y didnt she give me the charm? ><

You need to take the three mages to open the door, and then so I didn't have to buy the daggers, i killed the skellys, and then after you finish the quest, she gives you the Portal Charm which makes it so you don't need the mages to open the door. That's all I did, but i've heard that doesn't always work, so if you want to try that you can, but i'm not 100% it will work for you.

There is actually 2 different possibilities for your mission objective and reward depending on the order you do this mission. The first is if you are doing the missions in order and the second is if you skipped the mission and are comming back to it.
The first objective is if you are doing the missions in order and have NOT done Mission 3-3 yet. If you do the mission this way you will receive the Charm of Light from Zubaba on the second floor of Heaven's Tower in the structure. From there proceed to the Horutoto Ruins and goto the 3 mages gate and make sure you either have someone with you that has a portal charm or a WHM, BLM, and RDM to open the door. Once through the door, proceed to the Gate of Light at (G-7) to receive a cutscene. From there warp/escape out and return to Zubaba to complete the mission. You DO NOT receive the Portal Charm after completeing this objective. If you are after the portal charm, you have to go back to the gate guard and re-activate the mission again (since it is repeatable) and then you will get the second objective.
The second objective occurs if you are doing the mission for a second time or if you initially skipped this mission and now are comming back for the Portal Charm. After accepting the mission, goto Heaven's Tower and talk to Zubaba and she will talk about cleasing the Holy Tower and bringing her back proof of your deeds. Trade 3 Rusty Daggers to her and she will thank you for your efforts and you will hear the mission completion music. Go down and trade a rolanberry to Kupipi and you will receive a cutscene where she expresses her gratitude to you for the gift and in return she gives you the Portal Charm.
This information comes from experience where I had skipped the mission and was Rank 6 then went back to get the Portal Charm and received the second objective, whereas I was helping my girl and her mom after they changed to Windy were doing the missions in order and they received the first objective then after reactivating the mission received the second objective and the Portal Charm upon completion.
I hope this post and information helps anyone who is confused why they did or didnt get the Portal Charm and why or what they need to do to get the key item.

I just finished 3-3, bought 3 Rusty Daggers and accepted 3-2, thinking that since I skipped it I could be lazy and not have to go to the three mage gate.

if you got toraimari turnmoil quest unlocked, you should have an key item that permits you into toraimari canal
use that key item in windurst walls, and enter the zone. you should only need sneak while inside the canal. you'll hug the right wall and head down the lower level (where pugils are) and make a left at the next 3-way intersection you see (or you'll find a dead-end with some nasty slimes). you should end up back on the first map. after heading west and a little south, you will find an stairway to head back to the upper level. after that, just go north and west and you'll find the zoneline.
after zoning, hug the right wall and you'll find gate of light.

Am I to under stand that I need a RDM, BLM, and WHM to do this mission!?! I've just finshed mission 3-1 and I want to do all the missions in order, this is my first time though so can someone help me with the MISSION and NOT the charm thingy? Thank you very much.

If this is your first time through and noone has the portal charm <key item> then yes you do need the three mages to open the Sealed Portal
First talk to any gate guard and take the misson yes it can be skipped
you will be sent to Heaven's Tower . Inside the tower talk to Kupipi; then head upstairs and talk to Zubaba. She will tell you to head to the ruins, follow the directions from walkthrough
After you check the Gate of Light and get your cut scene you are almost done
If you are high enough try and get the test answers
There is a Portal that takes you back outside the sealed portal doors or have your BLM cast escape if you can
Go Back to Heaven's tower and talk to Zubaba again
as far as the portal charm goes after you have finished the mission just trade Kupipi a rolenberry and you get the portal charm

I need help with this. ; ; I skipped this mission originally, but came back for part of the story. I got someone to let me into the The room with a Key and I didn't get a CS, and I wanted to see the CS. I turned in the daggers thiniking it was a prereq, and I heard the mission complete SFX. I want to see the CS, how do I do this? ; ; I did go all the way to the Gate of Light, and I did examine the door, but zI didn't get a CS, why?

I need help, everything so far on here is a cluster $%#@! I talked to Zubaba and was told to go to the central tower of the horutoro ruins. Once there I was to report to the facility run by Heavens Tower, which protects the talisman that seals castle Zvahl. Now the CENTRAL tower is in WEST Saruta, middle of the map, east side. Once inside I could find no door or path other than the one thats on the left that is itself up to high to reach. Now can anyone help guide me in the right direction with details, without mass confusion please. My charecters name is Genghis, please help.

This is the most AWFULLY written quest I've yet to see. Please do not post anything w/out enough detail, I give BIG Kuddos to those who do the quests in which certain NPC's are actually named where they are in the "<pos>" There are certain <pos>'s that have more than one level, more than one door or a space and DISCRIPTION... ohhhh man... I don't even want start. But again, this was AWFUL. DO NOT FOLLOW this guy's directions, make sure you have a map, make sure you know where you are headed, my words of advice are as cheap as this write up. FREE.
You do NOT need rusty daggers. The rusty daggers are for it you chose to repeat the mission.
Do the mission. Return and talk to the taru who gave you the mission. Go downstairs and talk to Tayaya. (She behind Kupipi). She will tell you Kupipi likes rolanberries.
Go to Kupipi. Do not talk to her. Just trade a rolanberry. She will then thank you and give you your charm.

After running around talking to everyone in Heaven's Tower...I went and bought the 3 daggers- never had to leave windy (I'm on mission 7-1, skipped 3-2) got the CS from Zubaba and couldn't figure out why Kupipi wouldn't give em the charm so I gave up... /slap a few times then hit enter while she was targeted...after playing the game for almost 3 years I forgot I traded her a rolanberry forever and a day ago...I did zone, so if you have problems try that :-) hope this helps
I have completed the "Blue Ribbon Blues" quest (and all preceding quests) to achieve the Rhinostery Certificate, thus allowing me access to Toramarai Canal via Windurst Walls.
I wonder if I can activate this mission then go in from Windurst Walls and work my way back to get the cutscene and complete the mission, as opposed to entering the 3 mage door...

I can indeedy-weedy confirm that you do not need to go through the three-mage gate, if you are in possession of a Rhinostery certificate. You can make your way back to Horutoto through the Toraimarai Canal and visit the Gate of Light that way. Granted, it is a lot easier to find three mages to open the gate, than it is to get the certificate.
Also, I had already traded a rolanberry to that cute little Kupipi after an earlier mission-wission. Aftaru talking to the head lady-in-waiting at the end of this mission, I talked to Kupipi, like I usually do when I'm passing through. She gave me the portal charm for the mage gate. w00taru!

I don't see any reason why not. The only requirement is viewing the cutscene at the door.

Ok, just done this Mission and while i was in there i killed some Wendigo's(war) for the rusty daggers. Took them back to the head lady in waiting and she wouldnt take them, gave Kupipi the Rolanberry and she gave me the Portal Charm, so thereis no need for the 3 Rusty Daggers.
This is bugging the hell outta me.....how the hell do I get the charm...i got the rolanberry and daggers getting dusty in inventory cause ****ing kupipi won't give me anything!!!! I'm in the middle of another mission does that help? And when I talk to the gatev guard, he tells me to go to Fei yin XD (I'm on mission 5-1)
ok, I traded her a rolanberry and she says that she might have a gift for me sometime...thats it.... no portal charm just that...wth?

I accepted mission 3-2 by mistake, thinking I accepted 6-1. So I traded 3 rusty daggers to Zubaba to complete the mission. Then after that, went to Kuipipi and traded her a rolanberry, got the cutscene and got the portal charm. So in your case, when you finish mission 5-1, try accepting 3-2 and follow those steps to get the portal charm. Only difference for you is, you shouldn't have to trade the rolanberry again. Just talking to her after 3-2 is complete again should give you the charm. Good luck.

When I went back i got the part where you have to trade Zubaba the 3 Rusty Daggers and got the mission complete sound and when I went on Menu and looked I had no current mission. When I went back to the guard however i could accept the mission again and Zubaba said the same things with the 3 daggers. Is this just to raise your rank points because it doesent have mission 4-1 or 4-2 or is this just a mixup??
