Takes 1 full game week.
# Apr 19 2008 at 8:18 PM Rating: Decent
It takes a full game week to get this quest after completed the last one. I suggest after turning in these quests, either /clock and see what game day & hour it is and return in a couple hours, or come back the next real life day and try again. A game week is like 6-8 RL hours, long time to wait. I sense alot of exaggeration in these posts... It's not even worth waiting for, unless of course you brought a fishing rod! There's also a blacksmith/goldsmith guild, if you're into that sort of thing. Or you could do the Bostaunieux Oubliette map quest. Or just take a nap, and exp like I did. AT THE SAME TIME!

Having just done this part of the quest, I wasn't able to get it untill I left the puffball in the MH. I had been carrying it with me. The next time I talked to Rycharde (without the PB) I got it. Kind of a hassle, but that's how it worked for me.

I completed this a couple of rl hours ago and can't get it.

I had enough fame to get the tele mea quest and since then have done several more (the soup pot quest - mandriga bud quest - lg bird feather quest) the wait may be more than u know.

I decided to do these because I had all the ingrediants and need the space in my mog.

From my experience, the fact that there is no fame needed for this quest is wrong. I have waited 2 RL weeks and still havent gotten this quest. Best way is just do a few quests in Mhura and then he gives you the quest.

Yeah same here -- it's been a while since I've leveled, and the other day I went to lev 21 and maxed Windy fame. I dunno how many times I went to Mhaura to check to see if I could do this quest, and I never could. FINALLY today I came to get my Regen scroll and Rycharde decides to give me the quest. So either:
A) Mhaura fame (directly related to Windy fame) has to be up to a certain level
B) Character level has to be 21 or greater (doubtful)
C) You can't have the Puffball in your inventory.
Cuz of course, every other time I've had the stupid thing with me, but nooooooo, this time I've gotta run get it.

How do you get this quest?
# Mar 16 2004 at 11:08 PM Rating: Decent
Does anyone have solid information on what is needed to get this quest? I cannot get this quest, although I've completed the first two. I have about 41 total quests completed with a number more of repeatable ones. Most of my quests were done in San d'Oria, with some in Windurst, Selbina, Bastok, and Jeuno. My fame level in Selbina is 3 and is lower in other cities.

received quest went to SanDoria AH on Bahamut server and bought the puffball, i think it was listed under Food/Ingredients.
and Yes Reward was 2100 gil.
After completeing the quest this is what he said:

"Rycharde : Here's your well-deserved reward. Come back in two or three days if you can. I still have some work for you."

So i am assuming its 2-3 "inGame" days before starting the "Three-star Purveyor" Quest.

I FINNALY was able to get this quest from him. I constantly checked him daily for 1.5 RL weeks, with no change. Out of despiration i went to windrust and completed the ranger adv job quest, and lip-service quest. I headed to mhaura to take the boat back, and decided to check one last time....and BING! got the quest. thankfully i had my puffball on me for the turn in...i wasn't able to get the next one right after. PLEASE UPDATE THIS QUEST! you need FAME to get it. I've completed about 9 non-repeated quests and about 11 repeated. maybe 30 total..i was bored so just to let yall know. 20-30 quests for windrust should do it(some repeated).

I've done the first 2 quests from Rycharde... quite a while ago actually (2-3 real life weeks), but going back to him he keeps sayin he doesn't have anymore more work for me. Is there a fame requiremnt for this particular quest? I've done about 13 or 14 quests, the repeatable ones multiple times... help?

I guess I should say thanks for the answer...even though it wasn't really an answer. I asked "Where?" and your answer is "Click the word puffball."

As for the green text, maybe I'm missing something, but when I try to click on green text that shows up in my chat window via NPC, all I get is the menu with "Chat / Magic / Abilities" and so forth. No description of any sort has ever presented itself.

For those still seeking, I found the Puffball at the Auction House, but it seems to be a mushroom, so I'm guessing it comes from some of the Funguars, or is perhaps harvested.

The title after finishing this, by the way, is "Two-Star Purveyor."

I believe he meant for you to click the word puffball here on Allakhazam's, not in game! ^^

I grow puffballs with grain seeds and no crystal fed.

5th Quest: The Clue
# Dec 16 2003 at 2:40 AM Rating: Default
After the crab bisque quest is another.

Quest Title: The Clue

Wait a few days after doing the crab bisque quest and go back to Rycharde. He tells you he wants his dad to acknowledge his ability and requests 4 Crawler Eggs. There is no time limit on this quest.

I have only gotten this far, and haven't looked for crawler eggs. Rycharde warns that they're rare, but that is all that i know.

6th quest "The Basics"
# Jan 05 2004 at 2:12 PM Rating: Decent
This is the 6th quest involving Rycharde in Mhaura.

Rycharde wants you to deliver a dish to Valgeir in Selbina, and report on how he liked it. He gives you a key item called "Mhauran Couscous" to take to Valgeir.

Valgeir says Ryharde's cooking has improved, but he fails to grasp the basics of cooking. He wants you to give him a Popoto and tell him what he thinks.

After giving Rycharde the Popoto, he says he does not understand. He gives you a Tea Set. The tital you recieve is: Five-star Pureyor.

Tea set
Furnishing:
A Windurstian tea set.

Next Quest
# Dec 08 2003 at 1:27 AM Rating: Decent
Next quest is from Take, the lady downstairs. She says she wants to sample a taste of Valgeir's cooking and gives you a quest to run over to Selbina. Once there, talk to Valgeir and he'll do it out of pride of being a chef. He tells you to collect a scream fungus(I think it was this) and and a piece of land crab meat. After giving it to Valgeir, he says the meal will take one whole game day. Come back in until the next game day, he'll have the food prepared. It's some kind of crab bisque from What I remember. It is a key item. Take that to Take in Mhaura and she will reward you with a Windurst Tea Set, furniture to place on top of tables. She also says she'll take it to Rycharde to taste too. Quest title from this is Three-star Purveyor.

The quest after this one involves getting a pizza from Rycharde, taking it via the boat to Selbina, giving it to a guy in Selbina, taking the boat back to Mhuara, and telling Rycharde that the guy in Selbina thought it was a horrible pizza. Rycharde is not daunted by this information, and gives you a key item Map of the Toraimarai Canal as a reward. He mentions that he may not have any further work for you, unsure if there is a quest after this one.
