Teleporting
# Aug 21 2006 at 2:01 AM Rating: Default
Just wanted to say that teleporting does work instead of having to take the boat. After I took the quest the boat was already there so I went through, got on the boat, and it took off. After about 2 min on the boat I thought "hell, why not?" and teleported to Holla. Everything went good with the quest, then teleported to Mea, choco'd to Mhaura, and got my map. Just as I finished the quest the boat to Selbina was bound to take off in 1 min. So if you have WHM and can teleport yourself, or have someone to tele you, it cuts the quest time down in about half.

I did'nt have any wait time between Unending Chase and His name is Valgeir. I did'nt even need to zone after giving him the puffball. Just talked to him again, and he gave me this quest. Not sure of my Mhaura fame. Level 3(Maybe four now) in windy though.

Really just going after the Tableset. Dont really need this map right now...

EDIT: Was not able to get the quest after this one though. Sort of odd really.

Wait Time
# Dec 28 2005 at 3:36 PM Rating: Decent
Yeah you don't have to wait the entire 20-24 RL hours from the Unending Chase quest to get this. I only waited 5, but I'm sure it can be less.
8 hours RL?
# Dec 06 2005 at 3:41 PM Rating: Decent
it is 2 or 3 in game days... so approximately 3 hours will give you this guest after you complete the puffball quest. I've done it.

Go to the Horutoto Tower East of Spini Spipi's location (It's at the SW corner of (J-7).).

Once in the tower, go to the North-West Corner room, and check the North Wall. Enter the Cave.

Follow the cave until you come to a Hall built of the same material of the Horutoto Tower. There will be stairs going up.

You will enter a large room, filled with Goblins (~Lv.20 mobs).

Head straight to the other side of the room, and open the "cracked wall". Follow the tunnel to the next room and go to the North (Left) end of the room.

You will see a large circle pattern on the Floor, with 3 colored circles within it.

This is the Mage's Gate. You will need either A) A WHM, BLM, and RDM to stand on their respective circles to open the gate, or B) A Portal Charm, which can be obtained in Windurst's Heaven's Tower.

Once inside, continue north, passed the large piller, and into one of the two hallways, which one is irrelevant.

You can run though the wall at the end of this wallway. Do this. You will now be in a large room, with 8 hallways leading out of it, 2 on each side.

Go into the hall way on the north wall, on the left, and you will see a door called "Toraimorai Canal"

Open it, and proceed onward to the Canal.

A word of caution though: The weakest mobs there will con Easy Prey to Level 57.

Good luck. If there are any problems with this, post about it, and I'll confirm... I did this by memory.

Thats pretty much it. The Portal charm is a Windurst -mission- though, 3-2, so it may be just faster to get 3 mages. You can also go for your Rhinostary Certificate. Be advised that you need to be 65 to solo that Quest on the blue ribbon blues part.

Valgeir is at I-8 at the Sheppard's Muster in Selbina. You can run and talk to him, and reach the ship in time, with 30 seconds or so to spare.

I am in the middle of trying to get this map... alot of info has been neglected as always...

1st off... Rycharde doesn't talk to you by default.

You must talk to the girl outside the 1st floor door to where rycharde is...

She sends you to the mayor or whatever

Mayor sends you to Take inside Rycharde's house on 1st floor

Take then sends you to Rycharde.

Rycharde then gives you 1st quest... 2 Dhamel meat and you are good to go.

However you must wait like 8 RL hours to get next quest

Which is 1 Dhamel meat and 1 bee hive chip

Then you must wait another 8 or so RL hours

THEN you get the puffball quest (food ingredients at AH)

Then you wait another 8 or so RL hours...

THEN you get this quest.

So don't expect to get this map quickly.... it's 4 quests with 8 RL hours between each one... minimum of 32 hours to get this map...

The next quest you get from Take "Expertise" go to Valgeir with Scream fungus and Land Crab meat in hand... hand them to Valgeir and wait 1 game day this gives "tableware set" as reward.
*** This is rumored to give a cooking bonus ***

If u ever have problems with the instructions of a quest and cannot get it, check the "Related Quests" on the left side. This will usually key you in on what to do.

If you check well, you'll see that the quest named Rycharde he Chef which is the first of this series, explain carefully that you must speak with the mayor, then take (the girl of the first floor)
only 24 hours
# Feb 16 2004 at 4:08 PM Rating: Default
I just waited a little less than 24 RL hours. 20 to be exact. I just did the other one the other day and just logged in 20 hours later and did this one. I'm a Hero in every country (San d'Oria, Bastok, Windurst, Jeuno *including Norg, Selbina, Mhaura, Rababo) So fame to me is not an issue, I just know i had to wait 20 hours.

I'm at level 3 fame now, I assume that's not enough cause I haven't gotten it. Is it just 1 level of fame for each quest as this goes on?
What to tell Rycharde?
# Feb 13 2004 at 7:19 PM Rating: Default
So after delivering the pizza and reporting back to Rycharde, which option do you select? I can't remember the 2 options (basically telling the brutal honest truth or a little white lie), but I went with the honest answer got the map (but he said he will not have another job for me for awhile, while he recovers. Will a little white lie get you the next quest sooner?

Hummm....

When talking to Valgeir, if you choose the option "I dont know", Valgeir refuses to eat it unless he knows who cooked it, and it takes you back to the menu with the two options "From Rycharde" and "I don't know".

So you actually have no choice but to select "From Rycharde"

Hope this helps.

Easy to do, he actually pays for your trip to Selbina, but not back.

Valgeir is in the building above the Home Point in Selbina.

So basically for 100 gil you get a map.
