Summary

Take wants you to bring back one of Valgeir's dishes from Selbina.

Walkthrough

First do the Rycharde quests through His Name is Valgeir.

Next quest is from Take, the lady downstairs. She says she wants to sample a taste of Valgeir's cooking and gives you a quest to run over to Selbina. Once there, talk to Valgeir and he'll do it out of pride of being a chef. He tells you to collect a Scream Fungus and a piece of Land Crab Meat.

After giving it to Valgeir, he says the meal will take one whole game day. Come back the next game day, and he'll have the food, a Land Crab Bisque, prepared. It is a key item. Take that to Take in Mhaura and she will reward you with a Tableware Set, furniture to place on top of tables. She also says she'll take it to Rycharde to taste too.

Quest Series

This quest is part of a cooking quest series based in Mhaura. The complete quest series includes:

It seems that you have to wait at least 8 rl hours before you can get each of these quests.

Having Ricks dad give you the crab bisques is the only part of this that sticks to what it says. He says come back in a day and its a game day. Exact to the minute. So if you went in on one day at 20.24 you have to wait until the next day at 20.24

Mhaura quests are based on a different region's fame level, you could have hero fame in Windy and it wouldn't matter.

Same here - my fame is pretty high and I can't seem to start this. He just says someting to the effect of "Come back later, I need some time alone".

I haven't been able to get anything after "His Name is Valgeir". Rycharde is still sad. I've upped my Windurst fame quite a bit since completing the last Rycharde quest. Is there a greater fame requirement? (I currently have level 5 Windy fame, unsure of Mhaura fame...)

not sure if this is your case, the quest description is a bit confusing, and its not clear you get the quest even when you talk to the right person.

after you do "His Name is Valgeir" talk to Take and the will say that she want to taste Valgeir's food. Its not totally obvious that you have the quest, but check your quest log, odds are the "Expertise" will suddenly appear.

at least that is how it worked for me. also note that i didnt try to get the quest from Take right after finishing "His Nam...".
Where does this work?
# Apr 16 2004 at 10:01 PM Rating: Good
Just one quick qustion, Does this work if your not in the Mog House of your starting city? (If your in a rented MH). Or does it only work when your in your own nation's MH? Any help really appreciated! ^_^

OK - slightly strange question .... does anyone know if you get a extra skill for having two sets compared to just one ?

Some nice person sold a set at AH which has put me in good standing but since I need the quest to get a tea-set I'm going to end up with two. Part of me is loathe to sell the second set and I'm looking for justification for cluttering my house up further.

I suppose this would have ramifications for other furniture - like workbenches - as well.

Yes having two would give you an enhanced effect.

the 'tableware' increases your cooking skill when you craft in your mog house

not as useless a reward as it at first seems^^

I don't think you can craft in your mog house. It just works anywhere, right?

You -can- craft in your mog house.

I can't confirm the mog house is the only place the Tableware Set helps your cooking, but that would make sense.

The reward is a "Tableware Set", not a Windurst Tea Set.

A really minor point but this quest is actually called "Expertise". (Sorry my e-mail doesn't work).
