Eldieme Coffer Key  

Ok.. 6 hours, nothing. Kiling a mix of shadows, undead, and ghosts. A lot of blizzard 3 and blizzaga 2, with a few crystals. NO KEY ><
Theres 2 of us, both needing a key and coffer

Okay, for the last time. This does NOT drop off Liches. A "chest" key drops from a Lich, not a Coffer. Understood? Good. We had a 75 whm that could not get this through his head.

Soloed this as a WHM75/BLM37 for my PLD gloves, using it as an opportunity to skill up my club. Took about an hour and a half to get a key, and at the same time got to 190 Club Skill, so I ended up pretty happy. ^.^

My advice to people would be to make sure to check the Glacier entrance coffer spawn first, especially if you're looking for it solo - a lot of people simply can't be bothered to take the trip to get there. Sure enough my coffer was there, uncamped. If it's not there you can always Warp back to Jeuno and find someone to manage the switches for you. :)

Just to clear things up - you don't actually have to be the job in question (in my case, PLD) to pop the coffer to get the Old Gauntlets for the AF hands quest. I popped the coffer as WHM and still got them. Now just to head to Castle Zvahl and kill Dark Spark. However if you're there to get another piece of AF, you gotta be the job in question. Hope this helps a bit!

It Took me forever for this key to drop ive been huntin since AUGUST ive been in there so many times that ive dlvl in there at least 10x BUT i refused to give up ................. and finally got my KEY after ONA STUPID FIGHT WHERE I GOT AGGRO >.< it was dumb i was 57DRK/28THF i was the only one with TH I even managed to get the Tavazian Bell for whm AF on the first Tomb Warrior luckily the MNK helpin me needed it since shes lvlin whm to. Does a full moon really help? I'm not sure, I haven't read anything about that anywhere else. But here's my story. I went last night to get a key drop with the following party:

53 PLD/WAR (me)
53 BLM/WHM
71 BLM/WHM (thanks Johanan)
73 SAM/THF (thanks Heritage)

We needed two drops for me and the BLM, two hours of killing Tomb Mages, Tomb Warriors, and Earth Elementals in the Hume Bones camp... nothing. So the BLM recruits a 69 THF to come and help. Two more hours... nothing. I checked the current time, it was a new moon (2%). I'm debating whether I should try again tonight or just wait for a different moon phase and try my luck then.

EDIT: Okay, I am seriously considering quitting this game because I can't get this God-forsaken key. Look, SE, we all get it. You want this to be difficult. But there's no way in hell a level 54 PLD can do this alone, and outside of leveling THF to 50+ in the hopes of picking the coffer, I give up. No one in Jeuno wants to help, they just want money and whatever I tell them I'm willing to pay, they never respond because I guess it's too low. Well if you want me to buy gil and pay you for this, forget it.

If anyone helps me get this key, I will be your slave for life, you can have my first-born son, my car, a night with my girlfriend, whatever. But no gilbuying. A man has to draw the line somewhere.

EDIT: All of my bitterness is gone, and the relief washes over me in an awesome wave. I got the drop tonight, with the help of a THF (thanks Tobion) and a NIN (thanks Lacrolx). Now for the coffer hunt, and to check about eight times that "Borghertz's Stalwart Hands" is in my current quest log before I open it. Just FYI, it was Firesday, 48% First Quarter Moon when I got the drop.

If i could get someone to help me out on the Pandamonium server, i'd love you for ever. or atleast until i get the key then ditxh and forget, lol. seriously Eldemier Necropolis is one of the most hated places for this type of thing, i didn't like the garlage Citidel coffer for blm AF3 but this one is rediculous. I'm on most every night from 10pm to ??? (when i get what i need) Eastern time. send me a tell and let kill this together.
P.s. to the guy that asked about coffer spawn generally about 30 min after last opened. Have fun and good luck to all who seek this *%^$# of a key.

i have gotten my AF from here, and got another key, i was wondering what else can u get from the coffer chest? if anything?

yep so spent another 3 hours trying to get this damn key today. and quess what another lot under 100 on the key so lets see i am about 0/25ish or so on keys now, have not lotted of 100 on any of the keys, and have never been fortunate enuf to get a lottery to go my way. so i have been forced to lvl my RDM to 60 with nothing but my boots. if anyone has some free time and wants to help me on unicorn next time i am out let me know it would be much appreciated

this key is a pain to get, i spent 2 x 4hrs trying to get it, and nothing. I definitely hate this place and this key and the mobs that are supposed(!) to drop it. If anyone plans to skill up there and is willing to help me, send me a tell in game (server : Remora), thx.

My LS basically told me to shove it for this one simply because I missed this one but they did go on it. O well...

So I'm shouting in Jeuno and I manage to scrounge up an alliance of 7. This one was a complete disaster. We had a THF 45 and a PLD who refused to tell us when his sneak was wearing. I died twice and we only fought like three mobs that even drop the key.

Second party was awasome. We had a 75WAR, 75 RDM, and a bunch of 55+ and one 62BLM there for skillup. We did very nice even with links. Got two drops and I was stuck without the key due to losing lots.

Back to Jeuno....
After three hours of shouting in Jeuno I finally get something together at 3 AM. We head down to Eldieme Necropolis and basically get our asses handed down to us because no one knows what the hell they are doing. Our 74WHM is also kinda clueless cause he just came back from being away a year and forgot the entire map. So basically after I died and HPed once I was like "ok ***** this" and told em to get their **** together. I traded spots with the WHM and had him Raise III our SAM63 and then have everyone get through gates as I operate the switch. This is when **** finally came together.

We dropped down, we to hume bones and started fighting.

Long story short, we needed 4 keys. Got two. I won one of the lots. Finally....6 AM now {Sleepga} II
