K, now I read somewhere that one of the FFXI achievements on Xbox 360 was to obtain the SJ ability. I got it from the guy in Selbina, and nothing. So, I tried to put on a subjob. Nothing. I'm confused here and I have no idea what I may have done wrong

If your playing this on an xbox 360 and want to unlock your achievements, they are not awarded like normal achievements on other games, to unlock them you need to go to a name changer and at the bottom of the options that you get there will be one that says unlock achievements click this then select the achievements to unlock them :) Hope this helps

Hey, good to see that people are still active here - Lots of good info, but not many recent posts! I am also trying to get a drop on the skull and worm. No luck yet. I'm on Ragnarok too, so maybe I'll see you in the dunes!

I've been trying for a few days now, and can't seem to get a decent drop. Played for about 3 hrs straight the other day pulling as many damselflies as we could, nothing... Crab Apron dropped in just a couple of tries. Still haven't seen the ghoul for the skull yet. If anyone is on Ragnarok, give me a shout... name is Lodur.

Alright, heres a question. I've asked like 15 people so far and 2 GM's for help with this and no one could help me.. so i figured that someone here could. Ok, i'm a lvl 20 thf and i've been trying to get my subjob for 3 days. Everytime i talk to Isacio(i think thats his name) he tells me the same thing, something like "i'm a feeble old man, leave me be." ok? I'm lvl 20, he shouldn't be saying that ta me anymore. Here's all the info that everyone who's tried to help so far has asked. Yes, i have all 3 items. The apron, the worm, and the skull. I'm from Sandy. Yes, i'm talking to the right person..i've done this before >,>. I've tried this when the dunes were under Bastok control and under Sandy control. I've zoned in and out after talking to him more times then i can count. Thats everything i can think of a.t.m. But a GM said that it "could" be because theres a quest i've gotten that is preventing me from getting the subjob quest. I can't write my quests on here right now because i have dial up.. >,>.. but if your that willing to help me just ask and i'll /tell em to ya(i'm on Fairy). my names Pandemic. Or you can just ask here n i'll get them. Thanks for your time.

Only thing that I can think of is that you possibly activated the Mhaura subjob quest first. Which should prevent you from doing the Selbina quest. You could check the detail about the Mhaura quest and see if anything looks familiar, and if so then you'll have to complete the quest that way.

you will get at least 2 out of the 3 items doing this when exping in the dunes.
Also most of the time you will find that at the end of the dunes party that there will be somone in your party thats more than willing to help

Can anyone tell me why I cannot get this quest. I am RDM level 22 and when I talk to the NPC he just tells me he is an old man leave him alone. I have the three items needed for the quest but am not sure how to get the quest.

helped me, ell he got me the items easily...damsel worm took a while
maybe if in a big group with a couple of whm, otherwise impossible until you are at a high level to do it omn your own...

I've just turned lv 18 and really want the sub job. Is it something you can do on your own, or is it advisable to go in a party?
well i have the apron strangely enough yey im only lvl 13 so ill party in the dunes lvl up quick i have that band that boosts exp by 75% so ill have to get a gd party

I got the skull 1st drop. We saw a ghoul and ttacked, wona nd got it. Then we got a crab apron and a worm a while alter. Woot!

I got very lucky and someone lvl 50 on my linkshell took me through the dunes slaying stuff left and right till we got the items. (it took about an hour)

When I first was playing I met alot of helpful players.. I had to leave for a few months I just came back and now there is hardly anyone in Hades and they all keep to themselves... I can't even find good party members... so I am forced to solo..

Was in a party at the dunes last night, and two of us needed skulls, but no ghouls were popping. So one of the party members, a level 75 rmg, took us to the mines, kept us alive and kicking, and got the skulls for us, as well as giving two noobs (us... lol...) a great tour! I made 18 with my fmg, am going into Selbina today.
You can meet some great people who will really help you out in this game, it's awesome :)

I want to be a blm/whm, if i havent lvled my whm at all, when i start my subjub as a whm it will be lvl 1 and just be pulled along with a little exp if i dont switch it to main? or will it automaticly be set to lvl 9 since my blm is 18?

Also, to level your subjob you have to change it to your main job. Subjobs get absolutely no exp.

Your WHM will still be 1 as a sub. Just the max allowed for a sub job is half of your main.

I've seen high lvl people running around towns without a subjob. Evertime i ask them they dont tell me just give me dumb asnwers like "Magic". can someone post and tell me how to do it, or just send me a /tell on Garuda, names Weav.
You zone into your mog house. Then you go to change jobs. Change your main job. Change you sub to your main, then quickly change your main to you main Very quickly. With luck and lag you can do it easy.

im a lvl 16 about to be 17 WAR and i have 2 Crab Apron and 1 Damselfly Worm, i just dont have my Magicked Skull ...
I partied with a high-lv samurai and fought countless Ghouls and Damsefly's, no drop. I joined a two-party team and received both items in about 30 secs, hmmm, interesting.......

im level 17 and although i am not high enough to get the quest i got the Apron. Everytime i fight a flie it never drops a thing to do with the item. And is a ghoul a boggy or is it just called a ghoul?

A ghoul is a type of skeleton, and he pops at night. They're pretty rare in the dunes. IMHO, the best place to farm the skulls is in Gusgen Mines, on the east side of Konschtat Highlands.
I just got all 3 items for this. I've had the apron since lvl 14, just got it off a crab with everyone else already using sub jobs. Today I had 2 members of my LS help me get the last 2 items, and me and a lvl 13 WAR both got the worm off the first damselfly we fought (it dropped 2) and the skulls off the first 2 ghouls we fought.
