a lvl 9 BST and a lvl 9 THF. It was only hard because we got aggro from a goblin too. Got an iron ore and 2 earth crystals -.-

i actualy think that its a good NM, im at lvl 7 in Goldsmithing and need Zink ores. so im gona farm them around this area. and kill/steal from BB as he pops.
that way i get my Zinks, and maybe somthing that will be usefull at higher lvls. :)

Just soloed this as a 9 BRD/4 WHM. I just logged in and there he was in front of me. Decided I knew what I was up against. Cast Knight's Minne to help attack and Army's Paeon to regenerate. Then I cast Foe Requiem and started hacking away. I got two cures out, had to recast Requiem, but I then ate an M&P Chicken for the +5 strength. Fast bladed him from little under half life, to near death. One more hit and down he went. Only dropped Iron and Mythril ore.

I just started a new character on Bahamut this week and I ran into our mutual friend Billy for the first time today, and well...
I was minding my own business, leveling up THF getting out of quite a few scary scrapes with some THF-hungry Orcs and Skeles when a strange JP player sent me a tell asking me if I could speak Japanese. "No," I thought, but said "I can understand a little." in the auto-translator instead.
He asked me in broken English and terrible auto-translating skills to help him kill this NM that had just popped called Bigmouth Billy. I had never heard of the poor guy in my 2.5 years of playing. I agreed to help not knowing what horror awaited me...
He gave me his position, I healed up and saw the little wormy poking his ugly head out of the ground here and there. After a short hesitation, my new-found WAR friend Provoked Billy and it was on.
He was taking hits like a champ, never wavering although his HP quickly fell into the Yellow and then the Orange and soon the Red. He ran, and a low-blow Stone spell almost knocked him out, but luckily he made it just out of range. I was left to fend for myself as he attempted to heal what little HP he could. I wasn't faring much better than he was, but managed to get enough TP for a quick Wasp Sting to help the fight. We had him down to about 40% HP and I also had to run out of range to heal.
My friend and I managed to get into the Yellow right as soon as the Poison from my WS wore and he turned Yellow and disappeared. Distraught, we mucked about each other for a few seconds before he landed aggro from a Goblin passerby and ended up face-down in the dirt. He HP'd back to Sandy and I shortly followed (by foot, of course) and decided to whip out my fandangled MNK18.
He ran back before me and found little Willy again before I got out there. He cleared the area of Orcs and Gobs and I ran in, fists swinging. I provoked to keep my friend safe, popped Dodge for good measure, and Boosted as often as possible. Within 30 seconds the ******* had died. He tried to cheap-shot me with a Full-Force Blow there toward the end, but he was no match for my bloodied knuckles.
He dropped an Iron Ore and my friend lotted 827 on it and I passed.
What a waste.

Me and my HNMLS Cocod (Chains of crimson of darkness) decided as an LS to hunt bigmouth billy. I checked with some people I knew in the area and from what they said learned the window would soon be up.
We had about 18 70-75s show up, and we got to work killing the placeholders. Pld tank, plan was to kite and nuke with rangers/blms.
We were killing the placeholders when it popped. A anon person who was probably from a jp HNMLS was there, so we were pretty lucky to get the pull. Things went bad fast though.
The pld voked, flashed, and began to run. However, the worm didn't move first, but opened with a spell. I slammed elemental seal and started mashing my silence macro. I was too late to stop that nuke, but thanks to some fancy work from the white mage party, the kiting went smoothly after that.
With a full alliance of 70+ and tactics, this guy isn't a problem. The translucent dropped, went to our Ranger. Congrats Gess!
Other drops were sold and split, total profits were around 20 gil apeice, not bad.
We are planning to camp this guy again sometime soon, it was alot of fun and its good to have another HNM under our belt.

wow, 18 lvl 70+s trying to kill a lvl 8-10 poor little wormy.. wow, you should read up on the mob before you actually camp it... lmao
This weekend I decided to camp Swamfisk to make my soloing a bit easier, and I took a break from Pugil-whacking to notice a worm with an aberrantly long name hovering near the river bank. As a lvl 10 elvaan warrior I ran in and beat him without food enhancements, WS, or 2-houring. Fight took all of a minute and change, he did 52 damage and silenced me (woes!)
In retrospect, I probably should have leveled down after defeating this guy. At least no one in my LS was there to witness my "victory"...

2 friends and I just killed it. 2 rdm/nin would kite and dot. Whenever it would cast stonega1 we'd run. When it casted stone we stop to nuke.
mnk/nin friend would take care of adds and eventually chi-blast.
Fight took nearly 1 hour. Have fun!!

Just solo'd him as rdm75/nin.
Here's how:
LS had been daring me to try this for a while (Fenrir wasn't impressing them anymore). From the posts here it was clear that pulling him to the zone wasn't going to work, so I thought I'd try the opposite.
I wanted to increase Stone element as much as possible to cut down the damage his Stone would do. Luckily the bonecrafter rare/ex items have +stone, so I used them, a blue ribbon, crimson greaves and a few others. Looked funky, but I hoped it would work.
Killed worms until he popped. Buffed up with Stoneskin, Phalanx, Utsusemi, all the usual. Ran up into casting range and hit him with Bind and Gravity straight off. My plan was to keep Dia and Poison on him, and H2H him to death. Hopefully I'd be able to keep shadows up and not take too much damage.
Bind wore pretty quick, so I recast it. By this time my MP was down to about 90%, so I Refreshed.
It was going well until he cast Stone. BAM! One of my shadows down. I had two left, but I didn't want to take any chances, so I recast.
He was down to ~50% health, but my MP was back to full by this time. I didn't know what kind of 2-hour he had, but didn't feel like finding out. So I hit Chainspell and then just spammed Dia until he died.
I didn't have Fraps running, and a couple of ppl in my LS are calling BS on it, so I'm going to have to go again, and this time bring back proof!

Wow, just wow. I was running through Ronny one day, when i spied this, to my n00bish err i engaged without checking 1st. I died, my 1MNK Mule died. REVENGE i Swears!
So i go to main, gather my LS and come a hunting...

The tactic was much like the one posted below, to kite tank With PLD. What we didn´t realise was that BMB stays in one spot, he doesn´t move.
I go running in, provoke, spam all abilities and start running. The rest go to town. I reach the safety of Sandy gates, only to find he stayed put, and the hate went to the RNGs who were spam throwing pebbles.
The WARs all to occupied with other mobs in the area (Pugs, the odd orc etc) and the hate went to the RNGs who couldn´t get enough pebbles out of they´re pebble belts and quickly dropped. The mistake? NO Mage for Barstonra!
The BRD´s Songs didn´t land because he ran with me to keep me alive, and support heal with the WHM. The RDM ran out of MP and converted, at that same moment Stoneskin ran out and he got Stoned...
BLMs foolishly used Stone Spells, which just didn´t do the DMG required to fudge him up.
I watched in horror as the alliance started filling up with Red 0´s. In vain I attempted to solo melee it, with the BRD and WHM Cure Bombing me, i Flicked INvincible on, and as quoted "STone" Went Straight through it. I never stood a chance.
The Moral of this story? Don´t try to kite worms... they don´t follow suit.
We´re going to form a Dual Alliance with COCOD adn see if we can get the drop on him.

How often does billy spawn? Because I got a White Rock and gold ore (Score! Heh...) And I was planning on, you know, killing billy some more. Then I was going to go to Vomp Hill and smack Carnero around a bit.

i think this NM is quite pointless, i was just messing around as my lvl 14whm/7blm galka and i seen this pup lvl 8 fighting BB, wiped him out completey, i came in with 2 banish and destroyed it and just got a mythril ore, pointless NM, i say a lvl 9+ cud take this nm no bother
