I just took one on as a level 40whm / 20 blm and it was a fairly tough fight. It was hovering around a dude who wanted a raise, so i decided it would take it out first.
I finished the battle with about 180 mp left, but it took a long time and i got nothing for my trouble.

I just dropped one in Pashow Marshlands with about half my HP left as a lvl 31 DRK. Bad news for mages, these things resist alot of stuff, but I just hacked away.

What's the optimum party level to kill one of these? I'm almost a lvl19 rdm and need for subjob quest. Also, any good tactics?

If something detects by sound and low HP, does that mean if you stand perfectly still and have full HP, they won't attack you?

You need to be at least lvl39 if you don't want it aggro on you.
I've done this twice with no aggro. Stood perfectly still with full HP. Done this with Banshees in Qufim also. They didn't attack and eventually faded at dawn.

I'm assuming this means you need to have full HP and have Sneak cast on you. Of course it seems Deodorize and Sneak don't last nearly long enough.

No, when I stood right next to it, I had full HP and MP yet it still aggro'd me.
