Mission Orders

This mission involves the late Queen Leaute. Visit Monarlais Halver in Chateau d'Oraguille to learn more.

Walkthrough

First, accept the mission from the mission guard (you may need to trade crystals to a gate guard in order to build the rank points you need to accept the mission).
Then, proceed to Chateau d'Oraguille and talk to Halver, then enter the audience chambers to receive a cutscene with the king.
Return to Halver and speak to him again, he will ask you to speak to the king again.
Return to the king again and he will ask you to retrieve a key item called a 'Dream Rose' and place it on Queen Leaute's grave per the queen's request. Once you have finished the cutscene:

  • Head to G-7 in Western Altepa Desert. There is an oasis there (shown on the map), and behind the oasis you will be able to target the rose.
  • Targeting the rose will spawn a NM Sabotender, Sabotender Enamorado.
  • Other Sabotenders spawn here rather frequently, so it would behoove you to clear those out before taking on the NM.
  • The NM Sabotender will use 1000 Needles like all Sabotenders, but like other Sabotenders, that damage is spread among all characters and NPCs in the area.
    • It shouldn't be too much trouble to kill this NM with a full party of LV 60 players, but you can have as many people as you wish (the more people you have, the less damage each individual takes from 1000 Needles).
  • Once the NM is dead, examine the rose again to receive the key item that you need.
Return to San d'Oria and talk to Halver, then head to the garden in Chateau d'Oraguille, where you will receive a cutscene.
Select yes at the end of the cutscene.
You will receive a key item (piece of paper), and you will have completed the mission.

A Beastmaster can solo this NM, took me about 30 minutes and a lot of pets to do it. Courrier Carrie to do damage, and other pets in the area to hold him off once CC dies, until my Call Beast timer reset. I wouldnt recommend this below lvl70 btw.
Finish 6.2 and 2

Just did this; needle spams really bought us down. Monk used 2hr and took Cactus to 20%; overall fight was not dangerous. Party was lvl 60 somethings, with one lvl 70 whm, and Monk was lvl 56.

Took same party to Ranperres Tomb for 6.2 fight minutes after. Used the sneak pull technique. Took one skeleton down to near death (had to shout to one ppl to DISENGAGE alot) and disengaged. Other skeletons depop, and we re-engaged for win. Prolly did both missions under 2 real time hours

1000 needles

The wording of this is alittle deceiving, it doesn't just use 1000 needles once... it spams it throughout the fight.
no minimum lvl

The minimum level for this mission is not 60

60 is the minimum recommended level... not the minimum level.

Actually it doesn't matter if you choose yes or no at the end, he'll give the paper anyways because he wants his garden to be clean ;)
Derfland Hummus

That sounds like the quest you get from him where you get the Map of the Northlands. Turn it in to finish the quest. To get this one, you must be rank 6 and have your rank 6 renown up to around 50%. You then activate this mission from the mission-giving gate guard.

I did not receive a key item paper from the gardner. He gave me a quest to get a chunk of derfland humus for his garden. When I got to the missions list it states that this mission is complete.

I know some missions require that all the participants be of said nation according to the mission. Example: Windurst 6-2 is a BC fight, therefore all of them have to be Windurst I do believe.

My question is, do those who go to do m6-1 and 6-2 for San d'Oria all have to be nationed with San d'Oria, or can others help? Main reason for asking is I have an LS that could help me, but not a lot are from Sandy. Thanks.

I dont think so, only because its a forced spawn instead of a BCNM. Meaning anyone can do it as long as they are in your pt.
Sabotender Enamorado

Did this in an alliance of 10 the other night. A lot of paladins, a MNK, 2 DRKs, one WHM, one RDM and one BLM. Everyone was 60+ except for the BLM, who was 59.

Build TP before popping the NM. It has a ton of hit points, like all other NMs.

While we did it with only one WHM, it would be best if each party in the alliance had a WHM, since repeated castings of Curaga (to counter the 1000 Needles that Sabotender Enamorado likes to spam) only affect the party the WHM is in, and targetting people outside of your own party in an alliance is tricky (I type incredibly fast so I just used /ma "Cure III" Targetname).

Do NOT forget to speak to Halver after you accept the mission. The MNK in our alliance accepted the mission but never actually spoke to Halver or the King. You can't get the rose that way...poor guy.

If you get an alliance together for 6-1, kindly ask them to follow through to 6-2, as it is not any harder if you know how to pull one by one from a group skeletons and the mission is very easy to acquire once 6-1 is out of the way (turn in stacks of earth crystals if you must for the rank points).

Yes, your level has nothing to do with it. Level 60+ is just the recommendation.
#REDACTED, Posted: Jun 22 2004 at 1:29 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) The person that posted this info said a party of 60's should have no problem with it was wrong. Well, we just attempted it last night, and got wiped out. I recommend getting at least 10 - 12 people to make it easy. We had him down to about 1/2 hp, but that was after me spamming Sidewinder, Barrage, Eagle Eye Shot, and Sidewinder again.
