I have a republic targe (def:8, hp+8), and am a 28 PLD. the kite shield is in my mog house. all PLD equipment guides that I've looked at say to use kite shield. does the size of the shield make a difference, or should I stick with the targe for the hp+8?

The targe is a size 1 shield while the kite shield is size 3.
Although the targe will activate (shield blocking) more frequently, it will absorb less damage when it does so.
Having a shield activate frequently is good for skilling shield up, but once it's capped the best shield to use is a size 3.

I'm trying to level Goldsmithing and it's not easy from 51-60, so I figured I'd try Heater Shields made from Kite Shields. Well, I went down to Sandy to get the Kite Shields and they wouldn't sell them to me. However, my mule, who is from Sandy, was able to purchase them. It seems these are for sale only if you are from Sandy. Sandy is also in 1st place atm.

Kite shield is only sold when San d'Oria is in first. Just checked with a sandy character and sandy in second place. No sales :(
How much does this item sell for typically (in the ah). I know the price varies from server to server, but I am curious, since I still haven't flagged the pal quest, and well, probably will get rid of it the moment I get it.

Get this shield for free by doing the Paladin quest.
I feel sorry for War they can't equip heater shields . Ever since I saw a Pld in Yhoator use these as my noob war I wanted to be a pld. I LOVE THIS SHIELD!
The shield in the pic isnt a kite shield at all. It's a heater. A kite shield has a kind of teardrop shape to it...

both can use it but most DRK's use scythes so it doens't matter really...

the kite shield is made for knights in general, just read up. the quest isnt the only way u get it u know...

generally items for PLD are also applicable for DRK's due to them having such a close relation
