Mission OrdersHunt the Quadav in the Palborough Mines and collect the four parts of a Quadav fetich. WalkthroughAccept the mission from a gate guard after completing A Geological Survey. The goal of this mission is to collect all four parts of a Quadav fetich. The parts of the fetich are the Fetich Arms, Head, Legs, and Torso. These parts drop from Quadav in several different areas. Note: It is also possible to buy all four parts from the Auction House or other players. After collecting one of each fetich part, return to the gate guard and trade him all four fetich parts. i did this mission and i can't seem to figure out to get the next one, crystal line, so if anybody else had this problem plz let me know how did it
i raised my THF from level 16-18 just by killing quadavs in the third floor of palborough mines! and when i completed the quest, i didnt have enough rank points to do the next mission so i did it again, raising my WAR from lvl 16-18 doing the same thing! this is a great mission!
The best part of Final Fantasy XI is its rich storyline. It separates this game from other MMORPGs. I chose to give my character a storyline that goes along with the game's storyline. I find that this is a more fun way to play the game. Playing the game just to fight in the endgame and collect elite equipment is very boring and is totally missing the main objective of the game, which is to guide your character through the storyline which is to save the world.

For some reason Cleades won't take the items, is there any way to fix this??

I don't understand why people have so much trouble with this quest. My brother, a level 9 white mage tarutaru, and I, a level 9 warrior, have no problem killing any of the qudavs in the mines. Got the items in an hour on the Bahamut server.

My friend was able to get this mission at level 6, so level 8 is not the minimum level.

just got fetish legs and sold it for 200 gils i didnt know what it was for...
any way I am from sandy doidnt need it

i've got 3 of the 4, just missin legs. i've also died about 3 times. well my post name is also my character name and i'm on titan. if anyone wants to help me out lemme know. oh and i'm lvl 12. oh and the mines are on the eastern section of north gustaberg at the northernmost tip, it's not marked though. karin at h9 in bastok markets has a map. rex in bastok port might have 1 also

Palborough Mines is in North Gustaberg.
Go thru the Port Bastok gate.
Pull up your map and you will see a narrow strip of land in the far north corner of the map. The mine entrance is there.

you can do this mission almost anytime you arnt on another mission...
If you dont have a new mission yet, go and trade a couple of stacks of crystals to the Nearest Signet Person...
and check Menu>ststus>profile for your rank points bar...
... Hope that helps... also I personally have done this mission like 5 times lol...Also you could keep doing that mission and ganing rank points and eventually youll get a new mission lol...

I don't know how it is for others, but for me, the only ones that would drop Fetich Parts would be the Amber Quadev's. I'd attack, hack and slash the others all day, and not get a thing, but when I attacked the AMBER QUADEV'S, I got them all...just a little insight...

how do you give the Fetich parts to cleades everytime i talk to him he just says you can not undertake 2 missions at the same time finish the one you are on

nevermind i figured it out lol
THe problem I have with this quest is I have completed it, twice now, but every time I talk to the gate guard he saids the only available quest is Fetchism and not the next Lizard Egg quest.
I didnt go hunting for the 4 parts as I had the money to buy them from the AH so I did, I traded them to the guard, spoke to the guys at the presidential place and then the girl around the back and then thats pretty much it.
My mission menu saids that the mission has been completed but this moron npc Cleades or something like that wont let me go to the next mission...any idea why?

No point buying them as it is pointless as they cost around 1k each on Odin and you only get 1k reward. If you can, just get a high-ish person to help you out, doesn't have to be too high.. probably about 30 would make it a lot faster, but the higher the better

im currently doing this mission and its not to hard, after about one hour as a level 12 WAR i have the body and arms and about 23 water crystals, ventured to the second floor because i didnt know what was up there...raped out of my skull...and once i got deeper in i could only take about 2 Quadavs at a time.

This is my FIRST POST! YAY!
Anyways, I did this quest 43598234570294385729043524 years ago, with the help of a high lvl guy. He just ran around linking every quadav from every room he could get to, letting them plink him for 1 or 2 damage and got his TP up to 300. This didn't take very long with that technique, as his WS was an AoE scythe skill that just obliterated everything. I think we got multiples of all the required items in 2 runs like that. Took like 15 minutes.

Sorry... double post.
Its really easy to get these parts at the AH but getting them from the monsters takes some time i did this as a 10 war i was too poor to buy them but my friend LvL 75 RDM who was farming trained about 40 quadavs and i got 3 parts at one time ;)...

I have all the pieces: Head, torso, arms, and legs, but that SOB Cleades won't okay me for the next mission. Everyone says "donate crystals." But I can't donate crystals until I complete this mission, as you must be Rank 2. So what's the dilly?

If anyone else is having this problem, you probably aren't trading the fetishes to the gate guard. Just talking to him will not end the quest.

Also, FYI, the mine has 2 floors... 1st floor has easier Qdauves... lvl 10-15 should handle them fine... 2nd floor... thats a different story. Even at lvl 19, my Thf was having major issues handling Onyx and Greater Qdauaves. You DON"T need to go to the 2nd floor to get the items. You can stay on the first floor and they do drop, takes about 2 RT hours though...

hey i was just gona buy the parts but the arms and legs were like 1,000 and im really poor, so why are the arms and legs so expensive?

That would be because they're a rarer drop.
