Description
After the conclusion of the Great War nearly twenty years ago, an attack by the remaining Orcish troops on this peaceful Elvaan monastery left the tiny sanctuary in ruins and under the control of the beastmen. Years later, the Orcs transformed the area into their main stronghold, delighted by the layout of the surrounding area, as well as the protection that the monastic caverns provided. While there have been many attempts by the San d'Orian Royal Knights to reclaim this area, the ever-weakening forces of the kingdom remain powerless in this fight and often rely on hired adventurers to assist them in their campaigns.
Points of Interest
- Artifact Armor quests for RDM, WAR, MNK, and PLD.
- This zone is involved in the Limit Break quest Whence Blows the Wind.
- This zone is also involved in the Magicite quests for Bastok, San d'Oria, and Windurst.
- Poisonhand Gnadgad, Hawkeyed Dnatbat, and Tigerbane Bakdak can be found here, as well as other Notorious Monsters.

The Map of Davoi can be purchased for 3,000 gil from Elesca in Northern San d'Oria or from Violitte in Southern San d'Oria.

how d'you actually get to the well here for paladin job cause i got to a wall and couldn't get through do you need to head across the river?

how long does sneak and invisible last for cause when i use the item version the effects last a while but i got the spells and i went into davoi and cast them on me they wore of in an instant
I keep getting my @$$ handed to me when i try the palidine quest i use sneak and invisible but as soon a geezard aggros me im done man this mission is tough for a lvl 33rdm/16whm soloingim going to give it up for now i'll try it again when im a lvl 50

To get through the gate you need a crimson orb. To get the orb you have to get the normal orb from a taru in a house in davoi the entrance of which is through the un-blocked entrance to Montastic Caverns (so baisically Davoi >> Montastic Caverns>> Davoi. Once you have the orb you have to travel around to the diffrent pools in davoi and dip the orb in. Once all of that is done, congratulations, you have your own crimson orb that will last forever.
Or to save time get a friend who has the orb and have them open it for you :P.

I was told u need to buy the map from an NPC for this place but i have also been told its quested could someone tell me the correct answer and where to buy it or point me to the quest giver

Hello, I dont know if u can quest for this map. but I know that you can buy this from NPC Elesca San d'Oria North (I-8) or Violitte San d'Oria South (G-10)

ISO ***useful*** information- does anyone know what use the 4-5 ponds are here? They are clickable but I can't find anything on the web that involves them.
The ponds are used in a mini-quest during Genkai 3 to open the Banishing Wall.
nvm that last post of mine, there is no banishing gate, the G3 guide meant banishing wall i guess :/ (but i still hate maat)
i cant find the banishing gate either, and the one in J-9 is the banishing wall so thats not the one :/ i hate Maat... >.<

i found the gate but its surrounded by some sort of barrier. how do i get it off?
I have died about 3 times in this place in one day for genkai 3... davoi shoulda be burnt and destroyed... if all 4 nations (windy bastok sandy and jeuno) would get together and just completely rage war on one area at a time I'm sure they would win... I HATE DAVOI

i know of one reason he is there, and it has to do with San D missions / quests. If I am not mistaken, The Davoi Report involves him. Or it could be Infiltrate Davoi, or both, I am not sure. But its one of the two.

Where is the thyme moss in here? I heard to the left of the well at F-9 but could not find when I went there to look.

aye, the area was a former Sandorian encampment according to the backstory from various Elvaans and such.

for one lizard doesnt agroo the Geezard lizard does but not war lizard but i was level 41 when i went around those so he may be right ill do a check get out my level 30 blm

I just completed magicite 1 at davoi. War Lizards were Decent Challange with high evasion to my 33RDM, but no aggro. These do NOT aggro...

Does anyone have a map with AF1 (RDM) hole spawn locations marked? Thanks.
I have read the posts on this subject that all say the well is at e-10. Great that narrows it down to entire square on the map, which the locations are different areas. Plse someone tell me if it is in the horse shoe shaped area closer to the east of E-10, or is it in the pointed enclosed area more west of E-10. I am soloing this quest so an exact location would be helpful as i am sneaking arounf with invis and deoderize.
The well is located at the dead end in the SW most corner. Hopped in the river at I-8 and followed it all the way to D-8. Pugil aggrod at lvl 30, lizards did not. The mush at the well didnt bother me with silent oil and I only recall 2 spots where you would be visible to the Orcs. Once when you jump in the river and the large area after you get out.
