Description
Spurred by the discovery of darksteel, the Zeruhn Mines were recently carved through the large rock formation on the eastern edge of Bastok Mines. Due to the high market value of darksteel ore, the Zeruhn Mines is quickly becoming one of Bastok's main sources of income.
A lone Galka stands watch over a heavy gate in the mine's main passageway. Beyond this gate lies Korroloka Tunnel, a popular training ground for up-and-coming adventurers.
Points of Interest
- The Rise of the Zilart expansion is required to move past the gate at H-7 to Korroloka Tunnel.
- Zoning in from the boat in Palborough Mines grants a cutscene for the quest Blade of Darkness.
- New players can get experience points in this zone.
- Players here can mine Darksteel Ore, which usually sells for nice profits on the auction house.
- Several Bastok nation quests involve this zone.

this place is great for noobs, when i was a lower lvl i had no money and i wanted to make some for some new eq. One day i was scrollin thru the ah when i noticed a stack of zeruhn soots sold for 20k so i lvld all of my lower lvl jobs there and you gain so many soots and other various items that sell for abit of dosh so i hope this helps anyone lowlvl in need of money ^^

where you can purchase the Zeruhn Mine map =)
In Port Bastok (J-7) Seller is Rex.
In Bastok Markets (H-9) Seller is Karine.
And a short lesson on how to dig in the mines:
You will need to buy pickaxes from Boytz's Knickknacks (H-7) from Boytz in the area Bastok Mines. DO NOT JUST BUY ONE! Buy at least one stack. I usually go in with three stacks. Pickaxes break very easily, so if you only have a few, you will have to leave to buy more. What you want to do is buy enough so your inventory can be full of ores instead of having to leave the mines prematurely because you didn't buy enough of the pickaxes.
Head to the Zeruhn Mines. Once in there, tab around for mining points. When you get one, select pickaxes from your item menu. After you mine the first one, try to tab onto the mining point again. Most of the time a mining point will have more than one ore in it, so keep trying for that point until you can't tab on it anymore.
As for the field outfit, I do have it for my miner. Has it helped me? I'd say yes. I mined more iron ores with it on, and even a darksteel, versus from earlier when I didn't have the outfit and I didn't mine any darksteel. Though darksteel is very rare, and if you don't have the money, don't spend it on the outfit. Just try to get the darksteel without it.

Well then you should probably look up Palborough Mines instead of Zeruhn Mines then, yes? ^^ Interesting that whole idea of sorting things into the correct category. :D
BTW, it's in the Eastern half of North Gustaberg all the way in the end of the canyon up in the 'NE corner'.
You cannot get to Palborough Mines from Zeruhn Mines, but by riding the boat upstairs in P. Mines you can shortcut to here from there. It's a good shortcut back to Bastok from P. Mines.

hey guys i agree, you will rarely find darksteel ores here, i have spent a total of 10 hours in the mines and only found 2. I do not have any of the mining gear, so really don't waste the money on it, i found that if you mine slowly you get more out of a spot. By mining slowely i mean do not rush through the windows to select your axe and mine withit, go through that process much slower. i have tried both ways, and it may just be cooincidence, but i went in with 12 pickaxes mined fast and came out with 3 iron, 4 zinc, 1 silver 3 copper and 2 tin for a total of 13 "ores". I tried with 13 pickaxes mining slowly and i got 5 copper 4 tin, 3 silver, 4 zinc, 4 iron, 2 stacks of pebbles and a darksleel for a total of 23 "ores" Good luck to everyone who tries to mine.

true true bad dst drops lol, HOWEVER if you gi there and mine on darksday you WILL have a better chance at getting darksteel ^^ ive gotten 1 over 4 hours on normal days, then after almost one hour of mining on darksday i collected 3 ores.... probably alot of luck also, and the fact that only 3 other people were there, but still a better chance, hope this helps the rookies ^.^

Yes, I've heard that taking your time gives better results on average in everything but combat. It could just be a rumor though
my friend mica and i mine here all the time with full mining gear, and we have each only 1 darksteel ore to our names

You get the map for the Koroloka tunnel in Rabao....you cannot aquire it in Bastok whatsoever.
TW when you do get to Rabao... be sure to bring 9k with you to buy all 3 maps... because you will need them eventually.

Can u get Carbuncles ruby from the leeches in the zehrun mines??
Me and my freind fought leeches here for 5 minutes and got 2 carbuncle rubbies. I guess were just lucky :)
A friend of mine spent hours killing the leeches here with no Carbuncle ruby.

Ok then...lets get this clear. The name of the map for the area on the "other" side of the locked gate in the Zerhun mines is "Korolaka".
I still haven't been able to find that map yet.
Can someone do me a favour and give me what grid and/or vendor I could buy that from in Bastok? I haven't had any luck as of yet finding it.

I have mined hundreds of time with full mining gear in these mines and can tell you that darksteel is very hard to get here. Anyone who tells you otherwise has not mined alot and has got lucky finding an ore or two. It is not unusual to mine 200 other ores/pebbles before finding a darksteel here to give you some perspective.

Is there any reason we couldn't get a map posted here? The one in the strategy guide is so small and faint that you can't read it. :(

Anyone know the position or approximate area of the entrance to Palborough Mines through Zehrum Mines? It's not marked on the map.
Unfortunately, you can not enter Palborough Mines through Zeruhn Mines. There is a one-way boat from the third floor of Palborough Mines back to Zeruhn Mines.

Can anyone tell me where i can find a map to show the mining points in Zeruhn mines are? ive found two, 1 in the main room along the wall and one by the water hole in the back where u fish for the rusty bucket is there anymore?
